MILLE 552 IGT TOSCANA ROSSO

 

Label dedicated to the astronomical clock commissioned by Fraternita dei Laici and built by Felice da Fossato in 1552. Today the clock is still running and can be visited at the Palazzo di Fraternita in Piazza Grande.

This wine is produced with Sangiovese grapes, harvested by hand in our vineyards located in Civitella in Val di Chiana and in Castiglion Fibocchi.

Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with indigenous yeasts for about 15 days. Then the wine’s aging is in steel tanks and in bottle.

Grape Variety: Sangiovese

Vineyard: medium-textured, slightly clayey soil.

Training system: guyot

Vines per hectare: 4000-5000 vines per hectare

Altitude: 250 -300 meters above sea level

Vinification: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 15 days. Aging in steel and then bottle.

Tasting notes: ruby red color tending to garnet with aging. The nose is dominated by fresh and floral aromas. On the palate it is harmonious and light.

Food pairing: Tuscan appetizers, meat-based first courses, roasted and grilled vegetables.

Serving temperature: 18-20° C
