Maria Carlotta, the first organic wine of Tenute di Fraternita on the market, is dedicated to the wife of Count Occhini of Castiglion Fibocchi who died prematurely in the 1960s. The label was created by the Japanese artist Noriko Hirokami who, starting from the logo of Tenute di Fraternita reinterpreted it in a modern way. The wine is produced entirely with Sangiovese grapes harvested by hand with an early harvest to enhance its freshness. During fermentation the skins are immediately separated so as to obtain a pale color tending to onion skin, the typical color of Sangiovese. Fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature. Aging in steel tanks then in bottle.
